Unlike in other MMORPGs, you have to craft the special item using soul urns. Soul urns drop from monsters. A Blue Wolf Soul Urn which is required for that coveted spear is dropped from Blue Wolves. This guide will give you a list of rare items and what monster drops them. Don't forget that rare items can be upgraded! They're powers will only get stronger.
